Matched to the team, sized to the dog

Dog jerseys: the club kit, graded by chest measurement rather than by size name

A dog jersey is ordered for two reasons: a supporters’ table at a club, and a team that wants its mascot in the photograph. Either way it is printed to match the human kit, which means it is a colour-matching job first and a novelty second.

It is also the only garment in the factory sized by a tape around a chest that has fur on it, which is why the chart is in centimetres and not in small, medium and large.

Why we size by measurement

A medium dog is not a size. A beagle and a bulldog are both medium and have different chests by a hand’s width. We grade dog jerseys by chest girth and back length, in five sizes, and the chart says the measurement rather than the breed. A club that sends a list of measurements gets jerseys that fit; a club that sends a list of breeds gets a phone call.

The pattern is a tank cut with a wide chest strap and an open belly, in a mesh light enough that a dog does not overheat, with the number on the back panel where a coat does not cover it. The leg openings are bound rather than hemmed for the same reason a singlet’s are — a folded hem rubs.

The range

Basketball style
A tank cut in mesh, the lightest and the most popular.
Football style
The same body with a numbered back panel and a jersey-style collar.
Soccer style
A short-sleeve cut in a light knit, printed to match the club shirt.
Bandana
A printed triangle in the team colours, for the supporters’ table.
Hoodie
A light dog hoodie in the team design, for cold-weather clubs.
Sizing
Five sizes by chest girth and back length, extra-small to extra-large.

Matching the human kit

The point of a club dog jersey is that it is the club jersey. It is printed from the same design files, and where a club orders it alongside its own kit it comes from the same dye batch, so the mascot in the photograph is wearing the same green as the team.

Where a club orders dog jerseys later, we print to the calibration on file. Our page on how a reorder is matched covers what is kept.

Ordering

Measurements, not breeds

Chest girth behind the front legs and back length from collar to tail, per dog. It takes a minute with a tape.

Names and numbers

Yes, from a typed list. A dog with a name on its back sells at a supporters’ table.

With the club kit, ideally

One dye batch, one colour. Later is fine, and is printed to the calibration on file.

Ten pieces

Of one garment, sizes mixed. Ten jerseys across five sizes is a normal order.

What we make for pets, and what it costs

Prices are per piece and include the design work. Every garment has a minimum of 10 pieces; sizes can be mixed within it. A garment marked quoted is priced per order, because its cut and design coverage change the work.

Pets questions

How do we size a dog jersey?

By chest girth behind the front legs and back length from collar to tail. The chart is in measurements, not breeds.

Can the jersey match our team kit exactly?

Yes. It is printed from the same design files, and from the same dye batch when ordered together.

Can each jersey have a different name?

Yes, from a typed list, at no extra charge per name.

Is the mesh safe for a dog in warm weather?

It is a light open mesh with an open belly, chosen so the dog does not overheat. Common sense about heat still applies.

What is the minimum?

Ten pieces of one garment, across any sizes.

Do you make bandanas?

Yes, printed in the team colours, and they are the cheapest item for a supporters’ table.

How is it priced?

Per order. Send the garments, sizes and quantities and a written price comes back the same working day.

How long does it take?

Two to three weeks from approved artwork.
