Gym and training wear: the garments that are worn every day, so they are specified for washing

Training wear is not worn to compete. It is worn to train, five days a week, and it is washed after every session, so a training garment meets the washing machine more often than any game jersey does. That is where it is specified: a knit that holds its colour and its shape through two hundred washes.

It is also the range with the most priced items on this site, because these garments are sold every day and the prices are settled.

Specified for the washing machine

A game jersey is washed twenty times a season. A training tee is washed a hundred and fifty. Colour that survives the first is not necessarily colour that survives the second, and a surface print certainly does not — a pressed logo on a training tee is cracked by the end of a semester. Everything in this range is sublimated for that reason: the colour is in the fibre and washing does not reach it.

The knit is chosen the same way. A training tee is a mid-weight polyester that holds its shape wet; a compression layer is a four-way stretch that returns after every wash; a hoodie is a brushed fleece that does not pill. Our note on how sublimated kit should be washed is short, because there is little to get wrong.

Why a coaching polo is on this page

A coaching staff is the part of a program that is seen at every fixture and photographed with every team, and it is the part most often dressed in whatever was nearest. A coaching polo in the program colours, with a name and a title, is the cheapest way to make a program look organised, and it is ordered with training wear because it is worn the same way — daily, and washed.

It is embroidered rather than printed where a program wants the crest to have texture, which is the one place in this range where a surface decoration outlasts a dyed one, and our page on crests stitched onto a polo says why.

Ordering training wear

Quantity per garment

Ten of one garment is the minimum. A program ordering thirty tees, ten hoodies and ten polos meets it on all three.

One design across the set

Tees, hoodies and compression are laid out from one design so a program’s training kit reads as one program.

Names optional, sizes required

Names on a tee are unusual; sizes across the range are not. Send the list.

Reorders every semester

Training wear is the most reordered garment we make. The calibration stays on file and a reorder matches.

What we make for gym & training wear, and what it costs

Prices are per piece and include the design work. Every garment has a minimum of 10 pieces; sizes can be mixed within it. A garment marked quoted is priced per order, because its cut and design coverage change the work.
