UPF knit, sponsor logos, a hood if you want one
Fishing: a long-sleeve shirt that has to block the sun and dry on the water
A tournament fishing shirt is worn for ten hours in direct sun, gets wet, and has to dry on the body. It is the only garment we make where the fabric is chosen for what it blocks rather than for what it lets through.
It is also, like a dart shirt, a sponsor’s garment: the chest and sleeves carry logos, the back carries the angler or team name, and the shirt is photographed at the weigh-in.
The knit has to do three things
Block ultraviolet, wick sweat and dry fast. A dense polyester knit does the first; a knit with a moisture-moving finish does the second; a light weight does the third. The three pull against each other — density blocks sun but slows drying — and the fabric we use is the balance that anglers have been happy with over enough seasons to trust.
Long sleeves are the default because the forearm is the part of an angler that burns. Thumbholes at the cuff keep the sleeve down over the back of the hand, and a hood on the hooded version covers the neck, which is the other part.
The design is sublimated, because a fishing shirt is a dense full-panel design with fine sponsor text, and because a surface print on a shirt that is wet and dried daily peels. Our page on colour that is dyed into the knit explains why it lasts.
Three shirts
- Tournament long sleeve
- The standard. UPF knit, long sleeve, sponsors on the chest and sleeves, name on the back.
- Short sleeve
- The same body without the sleeve length, for club days and hot-weather events.
- Hooded
- Long sleeve with a hood and thumbholes, for full sun cover.
- Collar
- Crew by default; a soft knit collar on request for the clubs that want a polo look.
- Fit
- Relaxed, cut for movement at the shoulder and long enough to stay tucked or hang, as the angler prefers.
- Sizing
- Unisex block, S to 4XL, with a women’s block on request.
Sponsors, again
A fishing shirt can carry a dozen logos. Each one arrives from a different sponsor in a different format, and each one has to be checked at print size. A tackle company’s logo that is fine on a website is not necessarily fine at sleeve size, and the angler is the one who has to go back and ask for a better file.
We check every logo before the mockup and list the ones that need replacing, so the angler asks once. What a file has to be is set out in our note on artwork that prints cleanly.
What to send
Every logo, as a file
Vector where the sponsor has one. We will tell you which ones will not print at size.
Names, typed
Angler or team name for the back, spelled as it should print.
Sleeve and hood choice
Long, short or hooded, per shirt. They can be mixed in one order.
Ten shirts
The minimum, in any mix of sizes, and one angler’s ten count as an order.
What we make for fishing, and what it costs
Prices are per piece and include the design work. Every garment has a minimum of 10 pieces; sizes can be mixed within it. A garment marked quoted is priced per order, because its cut and design coverage change the work.
| Garment | What it is | Per piece | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tournament Fishing Jerseys | Long-sleeve, UPF-rated, sublimated with sponsor logos — the standard tournament shirt. | quoted | 10 pcs |
| Custom Fishing Shirts (short sleeve) | The short-sleeve version for hot-weather events and club days. | quoted | 10 pcs |
| Hooded Fishing Shirts | A hood and thumbholes on the same body, for sun cover on the water. | quoted | 10 pcs |
Fishing questions
Is the fabric sun-protective?
Yes. The knit is chosen to block ultraviolet first, then to wick and dry.
Can one angler order ten shirts?
Yes. Ten shirts is the minimum, and they can all carry one name.
Do the hooded shirts have thumbholes?
Yes, at the cuff, to keep the sleeve over the back of the hand.
How many sponsor logos can go on a shirt?
As many as fit legibly. We lay them out at print size and say which ones need a better file.
Will the print peel after getting wet?
No. The design is dyed into the fibre, so there is nothing on the surface to peel.
Can we mix long and short sleeve in one order?
Yes, per shirt, at one price.
How is a fishing shirt priced?
Per order. Send the logos, the names, the sleeve mix and the quantity, and a written price comes back the same working day.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks from approved artwork. Gathering the sponsor files is usually the longer part.
