Light, collared, and ordered in odd sizes

Pickleball: club kit for a sport where the roster is the whole town

A pickleball club orders kit for a membership, not a squad. The sizes run from youth to extra-large in the same order, the ages run wider than any other sport we serve, and the garment has to work for a player who competes and a player who plays on Tuesday mornings.

That pushes the specification towards comfort and range of sizes rather than towards a racing cut, and it makes pickleball one of the more pleasant sports to make for.

A shirt with room to swing

The pickleball stroke is an overhead one, and a shirt cut close through the shoulder pulls at the armpit every time the paddle goes up. We cut the shoulder and the armhole with more room than a tennis top and use a lighter, looser knit through the body, because the game is played in the sun and the players are not all twenty-two.

The polo is the club garment. It is collared because clubs want it collared, and the collar is a soft knit rather than a stiff pique so it does not chafe the neck on a hot day. The placket has three buttons and lies flat.

Where a club wants a crest rather than a full-panel design, we embroider it. A small embroidered crest on a polo outlasts a printed one, and the process is explained on our page on embroidered crests on club polos.

The pickleball range

Jersey
Crew or V-neck, light knit, roomy shoulder. The playing top for members who do not want a collar.
Polo
The club shirt. Soft-knit collar, three-button placket, club crest embroidered or printed.
Skirt or skort
With an inner short and a ball pocket, in a stretch knit that does not cling wet.
Shorts
A seven-inch inseam with a ball pocket, for men and for women who prefer them.
Team set
Matched top and bottom for league play, from one dye batch.
Sizing
Youth through 4XL from one order, at one price per garment.

Why size range matters more than design here

A club that orders forty polos will send a size list with two youth smalls, a run of mediums and larges, and three 3XLs. Most manufacturers price the extended sizes as a surcharge or decline them. We grade the same design across the whole range and price it per garment, because a club is buying for its membership and the membership is whoever turns up.

The design is laid out so it works on both ends of that range — a stripe that sits across the chest on a medium sits across the chest on a 3XL rather than under the arm — which is a pattern-grading job rather than a printing one.

Ordering for a club

Collect sizes before the design

A membership order takes longer to gather than a team order. Start there; the artwork is the quick part.

Polos and jerseys on one order

Members will split between the two. Both from one dye batch means the club colour is one colour.

Names are optional

Some clubs put a first name on the back. Send a typed list if so.

Reorders are normal

New members join monthly. We keep the print calibration on file so a top ordered in March matches one ordered in June.

What we make for pickleball, and what it costs

Prices are per piece and include the design work. Every garment has a minimum of 10 pieces; sizes can be mixed within it. A garment marked quoted is priced per order, because its cut and design coverage change the work.

Pickleball questions

Can we mix sizes from youth to 3XL in one order?

Yes, at one price per garment. A club order usually does, and the design is graded to work across the range.

Is there a surcharge for extended sizes?

No. The price is per garment regardless of size.

Can the crest be embroidered?

Yes, on polos. A small embroidered crest outlasts a printed one.

What is the minimum?

Ten pieces of one garment. Ten polos in ten sizes is fine.

Do you make skorts with a ball pocket?

Yes, in the inner short, in a stretch knit.

Will a reorder for new members match?

Yes. We keep your print calibration on file, and a reorder is printed to it.

How is pickleball kit priced?

Per order. Send the garments, the quantities and the size list and a written price comes back the same working day.

How long does it take?

Two to three weeks from approved artwork.
