Gamer tags, sponsor sleeves, small runs
Esports: a jersey designed for a camera, ordered in a run of ten
An esports jersey is never worn to play a sport. It is worn on a stream, on a stage and in a team photograph, and its job is to read as a team from a webcam. That changes what matters: contrast, the size of the tag on the back, how a sponsor logo sits on a sleeve that is always in frame.
It is also ordered in the smallest quantities of anything we make, because a roster is five or six players, which is why the minimum here is ten pieces and not fifty.
Designing for a webcam
A webcam shows the shoulders, the upper chest and the top of the sleeves. That is where an esports jersey carries its design, and it is why the sleeves are printed rather than left blank — the sleeve is on camera for the whole stream and the hem never is. A design that puts the detail at the waist has put it where nobody will see it.
Contrast matters more than colour. Streams compress, and a subtle two-tone design turns to mud at 720p. The team logo on the chest and the tag on the back are laid out large, in a colour that separates from the body, and we check the mockup at thumbnail size before we send it.
The whole design goes on by sublimation, which suits the gradient-heavy style esports teams favour and handles a sponsor’s exact colour values, the argument our page on full-panel colour without a weight penalty makes for every printed jersey.
The esports range
- Short sleeve jersey
- The standard. A smooth knit, a tag on the back, a logo on the chest, sponsors on the sleeves.
- Long sleeve jersey
- The same jersey with full sleeves and a ribbed cuff, for teams that play in cold rooms and for a different look on stage.
- Hoodie
- Sublimated in the team livery. $39.99 a piece, and the garment most teams sell to supporters.
- Jacket
- A light zip jacket in the same design, for the walk-on.
- Tags
- Gamer tag on the back, in a font the team chooses. Case-sensitive, and printed exactly as typed.
- Sizing
- Unisex block, XS to 3XL, with a fitted option for players who want it.
Small runs and supporter runs
A team of six ordering jerseys will order ten and keep four for substitutes and a second roster. A team with an audience will come back and order forty hoodies to sell. Both are normal and both come from the same files, so a supporter run months later matches the players’ kit.
We keep the design and the print calibration on file for the team, and a reorder is printed to it. The tag list can change between runs without touching the design.
What we need from an esports team
Tags, typed
Exactly as they should print, with capitals and characters. A tag is large enough that a wrong character is a remade jersey.
Sponsor logos as vector files
A sponsor’s logo on a sleeve is small and detailed. It needs a clean file.
The design at thumbnail size
We send the mockup at stream size as well as full size. Approve it at both.
Ten pieces
Of one garment. Ten jerseys with six different tags is fine.
What we make for esports, and what it costs
Prices are per piece and include the design work. Every garment has a minimum of 10 pieces; sizes can be mixed within it. A garment marked quoted is priced per order, because its cut and design coverage change the work.
| Garment | What it is | Per piece | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Custom Esports Jerseys | Short-sleeve sublimated jersey with a gamer tag on the back and sponsor panels on the sleeves. | quoted | 10 pcs |
| Long Sleeve Esports Jerseys | The same jersey with full sleeves, for teams that stream from cold rooms. | quoted | 10 pcs |
| Esports Hoodies & Jackets | Sublimated hoodies in the team livery, the piece most esports teams sell to their supporters. | $39.99 $53.49 | 10 pcs |
Esports questions
What is the minimum for an esports team?
Ten pieces of one garment. A six-player roster usually orders ten jerseys and keeps the rest for substitutes.
Can every jersey have a different gamer tag?
Yes, from a typed list, at no extra charge per name.
How much is a team hoodie?
$39.99 a piece, reduced from $53.49, sublimated in the team design.
Can we order more later to sell to supporters?
Yes. The design and print calibration stay on file and a reorder matches the original run.
Are the sleeves printed?
Yes. The sleeve is on camera for the whole stream, so it carries sponsors or the design.
Do you make long sleeve jerseys?
Yes, the same jersey with full sleeves and a ribbed cuff.
What file format do sponsor logos need?
Vector, or a large clean image. A sleeve logo is small and it needs the detail.
How long does it take?
Two to three weeks from approved artwork.
